Xbox 720 Console News

Are you ready for the Xbox 720 console?

Industry rumours are suggesting the Xbox 720 could be launched as early as 2011. Chip manufacturer Intel are believed to be courting Microsoft with a view to include their forthcoming Larrabee chip in the 720.

One of the things to watch with the Xbox 720 will be storage. The console standard of 60GB has been broken and 160GB is now available, so a storage capacity in the 720 of over 200GB is easily expected. However, perhaps we are setting our sights too low. If we look at how music has gone, we download mp3 files rather than buy CDs and as such it is perhaps likely that the new Xbox will focus on downloading games rather than hoping gamers will jump on a bus and go to the shops. Couple this with download speeds of 100 Mbps from LTE Broadband technology and it is easy to understand why the Internet will play an integral part of the Xbox 720's future.

We should also look to HDTV and 3D TV for the Xbox 720. Also look out for several USB and HDMI connections, plus some sort of outstanding audio and graphics technology. Now imagine all this inconjunction with an OLED TV and you're in gadget heaven.
